Monitoring of artificial reproduction of Atlantic salmon

On January 28, specialists from the laboratory of inland water bioresources of the Northern branch of the Russian State Research Center “All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography” (VNIRO) took part in the work of the commission monitoring the implementation of work on the artificial reproduction of biological resources.

The release of young salmon was carried out in the Onega River near the village of Krasnoye, Plesetsk District, Arkhangelsk Region.

During the work, about 30 thousand young Atlantic salmon were released into the natural habitat, the average weight of which was more than 12 grams.

During the work, the branch specialists selected young salmon for biological analysis, based on the results of which a conclusion will be made on the compliance of the biological indicators of artificially grown young fish with established standards.

Reproduction of aquatic biological resources is one of the important components of maintaining and preserving fish stocks in the region.
